I know I just posted a blog but I told my professor that I would have this done by today..
This post will be about the importance of keeping social media websites professional. As my professor mentioned in class the other week these websites can be viewed by anyone.
Picture this,
You attend a party, have a few too many drinks and pass out. while you lay unconscious on the floor, your friends decide it would be a good idea to take pictures of you while they place lamp shades, pizza boxes, beer cans and other miscellaneous objects on top of you.
The pictures obviously appear on facebook the next day. You laugh at the pictures and think nothing of it.
Six months later, after finishing your diploma an Humbert collage, you apply for jobs in your field.
Your would be employer does a little background checking and discovers the hilarious pictures of you on facebook. Although he laughs - he tosses your resume to the side and decides to hire someone who appears to have a more professional lifestyle.
So, you see this is one of the many reasons it is important to keep things you dont want certain people to see off the internet.

Blog #1
My blog is going to be about school.
I've been having a difficult time understanding how to use these different web pages. This advertising class kind of caught me by surprise... I really didn't sign up for it but was placed in it instead of another class. However, after attending a few classes I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it.
Twitter - This is a website geared toward information and opinion sharing. The best way i can explain it is that - It is a newspaper.. except that you can choose who the writers are, it updates instantly and there is no paper.
Linkedin - So far what I understand this to be a professional profiling site used to uphold professional relationships as well as to explore new ones (or even job opportunities. almost like a "business facebook".
Blogspot - This is used to speak your mind. It is a personal space to share your thoughts.
Hopefully I will be able elaborate more on this later.
This concludes my first blog.
